You can bless your meal with a sprinkle of raw nibs and know that you did your body a service. Do not scare yourself. Just think, this is building on the concept of eating more garden salad.

When a person refers to eating a raw food diet they are referring to eating mainly unprocessed whole, plant-based foods. Think about it … it can include raw eggs, sprouted beans, raw nuts and seeds, wonderful nut milks and oils, seaweed, dry fruits, fermented foods, wheatgrass, and nutritional yeast as well as grains, sun cured olives — even dried meats along with non-pasteurized and non-homogenized milk and dairy products. Now the raw food diet doesn’t sound scary restrictive, does it?

The foods that are avoided are (1) all cooked or processed foods, (2) refined sugar (3) refined flour (4) refined oil (5) coffee (6) tea (7) alcohol (8) table salt, and (9) pasta.

As a result: You would be increasing the nutrient level with healthy fats, proteins, vitamins like B and C, and natural enzymes that are killed during cooking and decreasing the amount of salt, sugar and saturated fat in your diet. Each of which in excess lead to inflammation of blood vessels and cardiovascular disease. Wouldn’t it be like mother nature to have given us food perfectly “live” food in the raw.

This choice can be prompted for different reasons like animal rights and weight loss, and result in great benefits. Those that subscribe to the raw food diet boast of better digestion, higher energy and clearer skin. Ultimately it can help with weight loss.
